FILTER BANK SEQUENCER

An Ableton Live Audio Effect Rack that sequences through 7 bandpass filters for rhythmic spectral effects.


REQUIREMENTS
------------
Ableton Live 12 (uses the Shaper modulator)


INSTALLATION
------------
Drag "Filter Bank Sequencer.adg" onto any audio track in Ableton Live.

Or copy the file to your User Library:
~/Music/Ableton/User Library/Presets/Audio Effects/Audio Effect Rack/


HOW IT WORKS
------------
The device contains 7 parallel bandpass filters (Auto Filter), each tuned to a different frequency band. The Shaper modulator sequences through them rhythmically via the chain selector, creating filter bank and vocoder-like effects.


CONTROLS
--------

Shaper (Sequencer)
  - Draw step values to select which filter band plays at each step
  - Rate: Controls the speed of the sequence (synced to tempo)
  - Grid: Adjust step count and loop length

Step values correspond to filter bands:

  0-18      Band 1 (Low)
  19-36     Band 2
  37-54     Band 3
  55-72     Band 4 (Mid)
  73-90     Band 5
  91-108    Band 6
  109-127   Band 7 (High)

Macro: Gain
  - Controls the output level of the effect


TIPS
----
- Start with a simple 4 or 8 step pattern
- Works well on drums, synths, and full mixes
- Try drawing random step values for glitchy textures
- Automate the Shaper rate for rhythmic variation
- Stack with reverb or delay after for wetter sounds
